Commonly asked questions!
Q – will the glue holding the joints together be affected?
A – no, the process used does not attack the glue.
Q – do I have to remove the furnishings (locks, hinges etc)?
A - this is not essential. However is advisable to avoid any potential of moving parts ceasing up etc.
Q – can glass panelled doors be processed?
A – yes, however, on occasions glass may crack or become opaque. Therefore we cannot accept responsibility for any damage.
Q – does the door retain any chemical residue after the process?
A – once paint has been removed, wood by its very nature will absorb any solution applied to it. However, our process is designed to neutralise the chemicals used in the process thereby ensuring only water remains.
Q – how long after the process can the doors be rehung?
A – the doors are returned to you ‘touch dry’. As such they could be hung immediately. However, ideally they should be left two/three days to dry out completely.
Q - what do I need to do after they have been processed?
A – allow to dry out completely, sand down and prepare, ready for painting, varnishing etc as required.
